Partnering with i-calQ

Smart Babies, Happy Moms has partnered with i-calQ the first diagnostic health company to use a smartphone to perform laboratory quality testing, removing the necessity for localized healthcare facilities and expensive testing equipment.

i-calQ developed a point of care testing device using the capabilities of a smartphone and test cassettes to take testing to the people who don’t have the money or capability to get to a lab to be tested. Their device, the ProReader, does not require electricity, is small and durable enough to be put in a backpack, doesn’t require skilled medical personnel to operate, and can be taken to the person needing testing on foot, by bike, or motorized vehicle. They have performed testing in the slums of Bangalore with zero infrastructure and resources.
